39,000 customers visit Lewes Farmers Market in 2018

December 2, 2018

Approximately 39,000 customers visited the Historic Lewes Farmers Market during one of the rainiest market seasons in 13 years.

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market thanks the farmers/producers, the volunteers, and the Lewes community for braving the weather to support the farmers markets on Saturday at George H.P. Smith Park and on Wednesdays at Crooked Hammock Brewery.

The 2019 market starts May 4, 2019, at George H.P. Smith Park, but, until then, many of the Historic Lewes Farmers Market vendors continue to produce and sell. Here’s how to find them. Hattie's Garden is working with a dozen local vendors to bring customers locally grown and produced foods during December, January and February.  A weekly email is sent to customers on Sunday afternoon with ordering information. Deadline each week for ordering is Wednesday at noon. Orders may be picked up at Hattie's Garden on Saturday or opt for a delivery if the customer lives in Rehoboth Beach or Lewes. One can sign up for the weekly newsletter at www.hattiesgarden.com

Among the vendors are Backyard Jams and Jellies, Chapel’s Country Creamery, Davidson's Exotic Mushrooms, Fresh Harvest Hydroponics, Totem Farms, and Twin Post Farm.

In addition to Hattie's delivery service, Backyard James and Jellies can be found at Old World Breads, Lewes Gourmet, Lloyd's Market and Surf Bagel.
