June 10, 2021

Celebrating June as Black Music Month, Taylor Music Studio will host a gospel concert and lunch to benefit the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 27, at Sydney’s Restaurant and Lounge in Milton.

BASSE, an emerging public school in Sussex County, will be a service-learning secondary school opening with grades 9 and 10, and eventually adding grades 11 and 12.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tony Allen, president of Delaware State University. There also will be special presentations featured from Bryan A. Stevenson and Dr. Howard C. Stevenson.

Sydney’s Restaurant & Lounge is at 16388 Samuel Paynter Blvd., Milton.

There are two ways to participate. For $75, ticket-holders may attend in person for a special-event-menu dinner and concert. For $50, ticket-holders may pick up a platter to go and receive a link to watch from home via YouTube after the event. Meals must be picked up between 12 and 1 p.m., June 27. Platter choices are fried chicken, fried fish or roast beef.
