Agnes Garrett, retired playwright

January 21, 2021

Agnes Garrett of Lewes passed away peacefully at sunset Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at her home.  She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette (Donofrio) DeAngelis.

Aggie lived most of her adult life in New York City, working in administration for various companies, most recently, HB Studios prior to retirement. Her midlife accomplishment was earning her bachelor's degree from Fordham University. During retirement, Aggie achieved award-winning success as a playwright of several short-story plays.

Aggie's avid interest in theatre was a constant in her life. She also enjoyed travel and the many Italian traditions she shared with family and friends throughout her life. She will be remembered always for common sense, yet comic approach to life.

In addition to her parents, Aggie was preceded in death and is being greeted in the afterlife by her beloved children: Elisa and Lenny; her loving sister, Rosemary; and her many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her dear grandchildren: Dani, Joel, Tony, Sal, Matt and Brittney; her great-grandson, Leelen (Gio); her daughter-in-law, Joanne; and her dedicated caretakers: Frank, Michael, Mija and Christine; and many cousins and friends. She will be remembered always. Rest in peace.

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
