Agriculturists urged to take part in local work group meeting March 26
The Sussex Conservation District will hold a hybrid local work group meeting at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, at the Vanderwende-Evans Conservation Center in Georgetown, with a virtual option also available. This event is free and open to the public, but limited in-person seating is available and preregistration is required.
The meeting will allow stakeholders an opportunity to discuss current USDA Farm Bill programs administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service, along with conservation needs and resource concerns in Sussex County. The outcomes will be included in the State Technical Committee meeting to be held in May. The STC serves in an advisory capacity to NRCS on the implementation of the natural resource conservation provisions of the Farm Bill legislation.
David Baird, SCD district coordinator, said the local work group should be diverse, and focused on agricultural interests and natural resource issues existing in the community.
Persons with disabilities who require accommodations to attend or participate should contact SCD one week prior to the event date.
