UPDATE: Route 1 reopens near IR Inlet

The water on Route 1 near the Indian River Inlet bridge has receded enough for the left lane of Route 1 north to reopen between the bridge and Dewey Beach. Route 1 south has both lanes open in this area. DelDOT will continue to monitor the roadway through the next high tide cycle.
ORIGINAL POST - Due to flooding conditions on Route 1 between Dewey Beach and the Indian River Inlet bridge, Route 1 northbound is closed at Fred Hudson Road just north of Bethany Beach, and Route 1 southbound is closed at Collins Avenue at the south end of Dewey Beach. The closures are necessary due to flooding from the bay. DelDOT will provide an update when the roadway is expected to reopen.
