Allison Stine of Rehoboth named 2016 Realtor of the Year by SCAOR

July 2, 2016

At a formal gathering of many of its member June 23, the Sussex County Association of Realtors selected a past chairperson of one of its most important committees as the winner of the association's most prestigious annual honor.

Bethany Beach Realtor Allison Stine, who headed the association's Multiple Listing Service Committee in 2015, was named Realtor of the Year for 2016, as voted on by a select committee of members.

"Allison is the latest in a group of premier real estate agents here in Sussex County who have won this award, the most significant one we have here at SCAOR," says Frank Serio, 2016 president of the Association. "She's been nominated before and we're all very happy that she was chosen by the committee this year as our 2016 recipient."

Stine is now eligible for the title of Delaware Realtor of the Year, which will be announced by the Delaware Association of Realtors during a ceremony at Dover Downs Thursday, Oct. 6.

Stine has a long list of professional accomplishments, among them heading the Allison Stine Team Real Estate office, with locations in Bethany Beach and Wilmington. She holds many certifications from the National Association of Realtors and is a member of the Long and Foster Gold Team board of directors.

In the true spirit of being a Realtor, she has also been extremely involved in her community through the years. She's the co-founder and manager of the Cripple Creek Car Show, which raises money for Operation SEAS the Day in Bethany Beach, and is a volunteer with the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation.

SCAOR looks for many qualities when searching for the annual winner of this prestigious award, including board activity on the local and state levels, business accomplishments, involvement in civic activities, significant contributions and awards and the so-called "Realtor spirit." The latter includes helping others in the industry, being accessible to the local board of directors and working to improve the Realtor image.

"Allison has done so much for our community and she really exemplifies the spirit of what being a Realtor is all about," says Serio. "Between her bustling real estate office and her many charitable endeavors, people in the south coastal areas really know her as someone who gets things done. Through her involvement here at SCAOR, we certainly know that as well, and couldn't be more pleased that she was named our 2016 Realtor of the Year."

In addition to the annual Realtor of the Year award, SCAOR also named western Sussex Realtor Dustin Parker as its 2016 Good Neighbor of the Year. Parker was recognized for his work as vice-president of the Bridgeville Lions Club, as well as with the Sussex Academy, the Woodbridge Little League and with Empowering Solutions, which provides humanitarian assistance to residents of Cameroon.
