Allow fisherman on Delaware beaches

March 24, 2020

First, hats off to the governor for shutting down the beaches in this very difficult time. Those of us over 70 particularly appreciate the caution.

I hope his office will issue new rules, however, to allow vehicles with surf tags to fish.

These can meet safety requirements by limiting each vehicle to either one or two fishing-licensed persons.

Further, all vehicles once parked and fishing must be separated by at least 20 yards.

Fishing for many of us is exercise and important to our physical and mental health. Please implement these or similar changes.
