Alpacas, animals native to the mountains of Peru, are bred for their fleece, which is similar to wool in warmth but is much softer to the touch. BY RON MACARTHUR
C&C Alpaca Factory opened the doors for its holiday open house Dec. 15. After starting their operation in 2008 in Mays Landing, N.J., owners Chris Reachard and Christian Addor moved two yeaars later to a farm off Sweetbriar Road near Lewes. They are currently raising 37 alpacas.
