Andrew Leonidas Kousoulis, proud of Greek heritage

January 27, 2026

Andrew Leonidas Kousoulis passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, in Lewes surrounded by his family. He was born June 5, 1940, in Elika, Laconia, Greece.

Andrew left his home of Elika at a young age but always remained connected to the close-knit community. He made frequent trips to visit his home and organized on behalf of his village, helping everyone he could who had roots there.

He lived in Chicago while earning his degree from the University of Illinois, lived in Athens while attending medical school, and later settled in South Jersey with his wife, Elisabeth, where he practiced his profession and raised his family.

As an obstetrician and gynecologist, he helped thousands of women and brought new life safely into the world. His own world was his family, to whom he gave everything and connected them to his community and heritage.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Leonidas and Georgia; and his sisters, Elisabet, Fani, Anastasia and Eleni.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife, Elisabeth Tsigounis Kousoulis; his daughter, Georgia Kousoulis Hicklin and her husband, Matthew Hicklin; his son, Constantine Kousoulis; his grandson, Andrew Hicklin; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends all over the world.

A viewing will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, at St Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church, 33384 Mackenzie Way, Lewes, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
