The Annual Southern Delaware Heart Walk was held Oct. 13 at Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown. Weather might have kept some participants away, but this rain or shine event still raised a significant amount of funds.
The money raised through the Heart Walk funds vital research and educational programs and initiatives that promote prevention, treatment and patient care in the areas of cardiovascular disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 5 leading killers in the United States. The American Heart Association is the nation's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
