Atlantic Fields denial is a big mistake

January 16, 2026

I just wanted to say that by not approving this project, we in southern Delaware will still be stuck in a retail desert.

The council sent a message to other national retailers to not waste their time trying to build here, your application will be rejected.

We will continue to drive 80-plus miles to go to the Costco in Newark.

The council made a huge mistake not approving Atlantic Fields, and the citizens will be the ones who suffer.

Also, the Atlantic Fields project would not have added any more cars to Route 24, but when the new developments with a thousand-plus units come along, those will add thousands of cars.
