Atlantic Lacrosse U12 girls capture ESYLA Championship

May 26, 2025

The U12 girls’ team from Atlantic Lacrosse, a program of the Eastern Shore Youth Lacrosse Association, took home the title in their division at the league’s championship tournament held May 17 at DE Turf in Frederica.

Competing in the premier youth recreational lacrosse league for Maryland and Delaware’s Eastern Shore, the Atlantic squad dominated its semifinal matchup, defeating the Kent County (Md.) lacrosse team 11-2. Leading the offensive charge were Margo Eden and Morgan Ryan with four goals each, while Annie Peete, Millie Alleman and Samantha Sanders each added a goal to secure the win.

In the championship game, the Atlantic U12 girls faced off against a tough Beach Lacrosse team. After falling behind 5-2, Atlantic mounted a second-half comeback to win 8-6. Eden once again led the scoring with four goals, while Ryan and Alleman each contributed two.

The victory capped off a remarkable day of lacrosse for all the participating teams from the Atlantic Lacrosse program.

In addition to the U12 championship, the U14 girls also went undefeated in the regular season before narrowly falling in the championship game. Meanwhile, the U8 and U10 teams showed tremendous growth and dominated in regular-season play. While no official playoffs are held for these age groups, both teams would have been strong contenders for top seeds.

The boys' program also had a season to remember. The U12 team advanced to the championship game, finishing second after a competitive final match. The U14 boys, despite a smaller roster, demonstrated consistent improvement and grit throughout the year. In the younger divisions, the U8 and U10 teams excelled, posting dominant performances each week. Though playoffs are not part of the structure for these age groups, their records suggest they would have been among the top seeds had postseason play been held.
