Atracare welcomes new mental health therapist
Atracare announced therapist Shamaya Hagan, LMSW, has joined its mental health department team.
Hagan is a licensed master social worker with a strong foundation in supporting individuals through life’s challenges. She is passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, self-esteem issues, life transitions and workplace trauma. Hagan is committed to empowering individuals to build healthy interpersonal skills, process childhood trauma, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
As a therapist, Hagan takes a person-centered, holistic approach that blends evidence-based practices such as EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, polyvagal theory, internal family systems and strength-based methods. She has a deep interest in somatic therapy and continues to expand her skills to meet the diverse needs of her clients. Hagan has worked with high school students confronting existential questions, single parents facing support challenges and individuals navigating complex family or workplace relationships. She brings a warm, grounded presence to her practice and creates a judgment-free space where clients can celebrate big and small wins.
Originally from Seaford, Hagan enjoys spending her free time listening to music, binge-watching reality TV, diving into YouTube think pieces and playing The Sims. She also cherishes time with family and friends, and deeply appreciates documentaries.
