November 21, 2018

Barbara C. Timmons, 82, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  She was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Dover, N.J., daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Cleave.

Mrs. Timmons graduated from the University of Delaware in 1958.  A member of the Rehoboth Art League, she was a talented artist and loved painting. Mrs. Timmons' calling, however, was as a nurturing and supportive mother, who took great pride in keeping her home and raising her family.  Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was loved by many, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, William Allen Timmons. She is survived by her sons: William J. Timmons (Tracy) of Dagsboro and Jay S. Timmons (Susan) of Tewksbury, Mass.; her daughter, Sharon Pilk (Jack) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; her 10 grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren.

All services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Timmons' memory to the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St. Suite 609, New York, NY 10036, or www.bcrf.org.
