Barbara Lee Carmean, machine operator
Ms. Barbara Lee Carmean, 70, of Laurel passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018.
Barbara was born in Lewes Feb. 14, 1948, to the late John and Ruth Chandler Layton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, David Moore.
She worked as a machine operator for Arrow Safety, and also Frank Smith Nursery.
She attended Lord Baltimore School in Ocean View. She was a single mother, and her son Mark meant everything to her. Hobbies included sewing, canning, cooking and eating the seafood Mark caught. She also had a heart for stray dogs.
She is survived by one son, Mark Carmean of Laurel; a sister, Jeannie Millman and her husband Stanley; and a brother Wayne Moore and his wife Barb. She is also survived by a special nephew, Christopher Dyer and his wife Abigail, along with their two daughters Danilyn and Emma, as well as her canine friend Diamond.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, at the Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial Cemetery.
