Bargains on the Broadkill canceled

Canoe and kayak race still on; Rubber Duck Race to take place virtually
August 22, 2025

Milton Chamber of Commerce has announced that Bargains on the Broadkill, set for Saturday, Aug. 23, has been canceled due to flooding on Chandler Street and at Milton Memorial Park.

In a posted statement, the chamber said the decision was made for the safety of vendors, visitors and volunteers.

The statement said, “We know this is disappointing, but we are so grateful for the outpouring of support from our community, vendors, and sponsors who make events like this possible year after year. Milton is strong, and we’ll be back together soon!”

The annual canoe and kayak race will still take place, with registration at 8:30 a.m.

The chamber said the Rubber Duck Race, an annual part of the event, will happen virtually, with details for how to watch the race from home to be released later.
