Bayhealth appoints Richard Mohnk chief information officer

October 13, 2015

Bayhealth announced the appointment of Richard “Rick” Mohnk, MSA, MT (ASCP), to the position of vice president and chief information officer. Mohnk brings with him almost 20 years of experience working as a CIO.

Mohnk joins Bayhealth from UMass Memorial Health Care in Holden, Mass., where he served as the associate CIO since 2011. Prior to that, he served as the vice president and CIO for 10 years at HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster, Mass. Mohnk has a master of science in administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor of science in medical technology from Saginaw Valley State University.

“Rick is a true executive with experience leading healthcare information services divisions, and his values align with those of Bayhealth. We’re excited to have him as part of the executive team,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Michael J. Tretina, CPA, FHFMA, FACHE. “Rick very much hit the ground running, having met with his team before his first day. I’m excited about the direction he’s going to take the department and the opportunity Bayhealth now has to enhance and improve Information Services.”

Mohnk applied for the CIO position because he was at a point in his career where the time was right for a change and felt working at Bayhealth would be the change he desired. “Bayhealth is focused on the patient, their family, staff, quality, and being a financially strong organization,” he said.

In his role, Mohnk will be responsible for all aspects of the organization’s information technology and systems, including technology infrastructure, data governance, strategic planning project management, information management and business analysis. He will work collaboratively with members of the senior management team. For more information, go to bayhealth.org.
