Beach bingo nets $15K for Miriam’s Table

Nearly 200 people participated in the third annual beach bingo fundraiser to support Miriam’s Table, held Feb. 25.

A large part of the annual budget for Miriam’s Table comes from this event, which raised about $15,000 that will provide more than 26,000 meals for the children the charity serves. 

Miriam's Table is a nutrition center established in 2014 in the Democratic Republic of Congo by Lewes residents Ed and Susie Keefer. The center feeds a nutritious meal to 350 children daily.

Susie Keefer said she was thrilled and humbled by the generosity of so many people in the community. Event sponsors included Outlet Liquors, Giant of Rehoboth, Giant of Millville and Utz Quality Foods. Callers for the event were Sharon Messina and Bryan Hecksher.

The next Miriam's Table fundraiser will be Dining Out with Miriam at Henlopen City Oyster House Thursday, April 27.
