January 10, 2019

The Beacon boys’ basketball team moved to 4-2 on the season with a 34-15 victory over Selbyville. The Beacon Lady Vikings fell to the Lady Indians 22-16, dropping them to 3-3.

Dylan Fannin led the Vikings with 13 points. Stephane Etienne dropped eight, while Daeshaun Lewis, Luke Burton, Owen Daminger, Nehemiah Ricketts, and Brogen Evick each sunk a basket, and Liam O’Donnell hit a free throw.

“Basketball doesn't get any better than when players genuinely cheer for their teammates’ success,” said Beacon coach Sean O’Grady. “Tonight, we played as a team, and were all about the we and not the me.”

Diana Nauman scored six points to lead the Lady Vikings. Allison Head and Brianna Loper each tallied five.

The Vikings travel to Laurel Monday, Jan. 14, to take on the middle school Bulldogs.
