Beebe’s Holiday of Life spreads joy and hope

December 1, 2020

A community hospital is reassuring to have for a variety or reasons, but in my family’s case, we have felt the most appreciation for Beebe when we were expecting a baby, had a child who was in need of immediate care, or knew an elderly loved one needed attention. In all of the times our family has visited Beebe, we have received pinnacle care and have been treated with respect. Starting with the volunteer who greeted us with a smile, then to a nurse who patiently explained procedures, to the well-educated and experienced doctors who gave us a sense of relief and confidence that everything was going to be alright, we have always felt that Beebe could stand proudly next to any hospital in a major metropolitan area.

Because of the excellent care my family has received, I can only deduce others in our community must feel the same. What a reassuring feeling to know excellent care is available in our region! After delivering our three children, I sought assistance from Nancy Hastings, Beebe’s lactation consultant. Her patience, round-the-clock availability and knowledge base (not to mention her wonderful personality!) were commendable. In fact, we still maintain a friendship today because of the close bond that was formed from the trust she and I had with one another.

Not only do I have a personal relationship with Beebe, but the Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships has had partnerships with Beebe for many years. Hertrich considers Beebe a pillar of our community, and as a company we know firsthand the impact the hospital has. Our sponsorship of Beebe’s Holiday of Life program is a way that we as an organization give back to Beebe because Beebe has given so much to us in ways that are meaningful and beneficial to our community.

Beebe’s Holiday of Life also aligns with Hertrich’s focus of supporting our local children and families, because this fundraiser benefits the hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Services. We know from firsthand experience the excellent care provided by Women’s and Children’s Services, and what an impact that care can have on families.

This year has been a tough time for everyone. Hertrich feels the Holiday of Life initiative is an excellent way to spread joy and hope in our community through the magic of the holidays while honoring or remembering those we love. It is our hope that this year’s Holiday of Life effort will also serve to honor all of our frontline workers too – those who have made great sacrifices and risked their own health to care for our community during the pandemic.

This year we hope that every time our frontline workers walk past the trees, they will remember that they have the support and gratitude of their community behind them as they continue to battle COVID-19 each day.

As a community-based, not-for-profit healthcare system, Beebe Healthcare depends on the generous support of the community it serves. To make a gift to Holiday of Life to honor or remember a loved one, visit Beebe Medical Foundation at beebemedicalfoundation.org or call 302-644-2900.
