Beebe Ball moves to convention center

October 29, 2009

Tickets are now available for the Beebe Medical Foundation’s 22nd Annual Beebe Ball, A Royal Evening, to take place Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in downtown Rehoboth Beach.

This year, in collaboration with various local groups, the ball committee seeks to raise money for the renovation of the Beebe Medical Center’s Women’s Health Pavilion to accommodate the growing demand for high-quality healthcare. The pavilion serves women and newborn babies and is designed for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care.

Online bidding is a new feature that has been added so that all can participate in the silent auction and support Beebe even if one cannot attend the event in person. Visit beebemedicalfoundation.org and link to the bidding site to view items being offered.

Anticipation of transforming the convention center into a medieval castle and bringing the event to downtown Rehoboth Beach has gained strong support around the community. Local businesses, both renewed and new, will be charged with the task of elaborately designing a table using this year’s theme of A Royal Evening.

The enthusiasm for regally decorating the convention center has spilled into the classrooms of Rehoboth Elementary School and Southern Delaware School of the Arts, where classes and art departments will assist in designing their respective tables.

Entertainment will abound for the evening. Clear Space Productions will once again perform with a unique custom medley just for this special event. Signorella and His Band will also provide the music for dancing during and after dinner.

A nine-day Royal Caribbean cruise for two, setting sail April 15, 2010, to Bermuda and the Bahamas will also be raffled off. Generously underwritten by Mark and Maryann Ronald and Ocean Travel, only 400 raffle chances are available for $25 per ticket with no limit to how many can be purchased.
