Beebe CEO to keynote state chamber dinner Jan. 9

October 21, 2022

The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 186th Annual Dinner is set for Monday, Jan. 9, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, Wilmington.

The chamber announced Dr. David A. Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO, as this year’s distinguished keynote speaker.

In 1920, Sussex County’s population was just under 44,000 people. Today, the county boasts a population of more than 245,000 and is the fastest-growing county in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. These numbers are not just from retirees; they include people of every age and demographic. Such growth brings more employers and increased pressure on delivery of public services.

As the only health system headquartered in and focused solely on Sussex County, Beebe Healthcare is leading the delivery of care to people who live, work and visit in the area. Since its founding in 1916, Beebe Healthcare has been developing alongside its community, and a century later, Beebe’s board approved the organization’s largest expansion to date. In just the last two years, the nonprofit has opened two robust health campuses, and added more than 100 physicians and providers to uphold its commitment of providing the safest and highest-quality care in Sussex County.

Tam joined Beebe Healthcare in 2020 to lead a team of nearly 3,000 employees. With the help of his board, Tam is providing a vision and strategic plan that will take Beebe from where it is today to where it plans to be in the future.

“I am honored to address Delaware’s vibrant and diverse business community at the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 186th Annual Dinner,” said Tam. “I look forward to sharing the story of Beebe and our plans for the future of healthcare.”
