Beebe designated Breast Imaging Center for Excellence

The American College of Radiology has designated Beebe Medical Center as a Breast Imaging Center for Excellence.

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the college recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the college’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.

The breast imaging services at Beebe Medical Center are fully accredited in mammography, sterotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations determined that Beebe Medical Center has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.

The college is a national organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, as well as the delivery of comprehensive health care services.

Beebe Medical Center has digital mammography services at four locations: Beebe Medical Center’s main location on Savannah Road in Lewes; the Eugene & Catherine Bookhammer Outpatient Center at Beebe Health Campus on John J. Williams Highway near Rehoboth Beach; Beebe Imaging at Georgetown Professional Park on Office Circle just off Route 113 in Georgetown; and at the Beebe Imaging center in Creekside Plaza, on Route 26 in Millville.
