Beebe executive to chair women’s heart health campaign

January 13, 2026

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women in Delaware and across the United States, and to help change that, the American Heart Association is encouraging women to prioritize their heart health. The association recently announced that Ashley Addison Foster, MBA, senior vice president and chief people officer for Beebe Healthcare, will serve as chair of the Delaware Go Red for Women campaign for the second consecutive year. This movement focuses on empowering women to take charge of their heart health while addressing critical gaps in research, education and care. Go Red for Women is dedicated to helping women lead healthier lives.

Building on the tremendous success of the 2025 campaign, Foster will lead the initiative to continue raising awareness and funds to combat heart disease. Despite the threat of CVD, less than half of women are aware of its risk. Go Red for Women is committed to closing gaps in access to care and championing a community of support.

“I am honored and energized to continue leading this vital mission," said Foster. "Last year's campaign demonstrated the power of our community coming together to save women's lives. This year, we're building on that momentum to reach even more women with life-saving education and resources.”

This year’s Delaware Go Red for Women campaign will focus on raising awareness about women’s unique cardiovascular risk factors, promoting equitable access to care and supporting lifesaving research. Through community engagement, partnerships and educational initiatives, the campaign will aim to empower women across the state to make heart-healthy decisions and encourage systemic change to support better outcomes for all.

“There is one source of support women can count on – each other. Ashley’s unwavering passion and dedication to the Go Red for Women movement is creating a ripple of change in Delaware,” said Jim Murphy, American Heart Association - Delaware executive director.

The Delaware Go Red for Women Experience will be held Friday, May 15, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. The event will feature survivor stories, inspiring speakers and an engaging health expo highlighting the mission of women’s heart health.
