Beebe expands neurosciences, adds specialist Punit Pandya, DO
Beebe Healthcare recently announced the expansion of its neurosciences program.
As part of this development, Beebe welcomes Punit Pandya, DO, a fellowship-trained, board-certified neurosurgeon, to its medical staff through a clinical affiliation with Jefferson Health. Pandya is now seeing patients at Beebe’s Milton Health Center.
Pandya brings advanced subspecialty training in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, having completed a prestigious spine fellowship at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He also completed his neurosurgery residency at OhioHealth’s Grant Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, and earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Pandya to Beebe Healthcare and to expand our neurosurgery services for Sussex County,” said Paul Sierzenski, senior vice president, chief physician executive, Beebe Healthcare. “Growth is driving permanent change to healthcare in our region, and Beebe will continue to serve our community guided by our deep understanding of our patients’ needs now and in the future.”
Initially, Pandya will focus on a range of cervical and lumbar procedures, including both anterior and posterior approaches for decompression, fusion and motion preservation. His expertise enables him to offer advanced treatments for conditions affecting the neck (cervical spine), upper back (thoracic spine) and lower back (lumbar spine), providing relief from nerve pressure, stabilizing the spine and preserving natural movement whenever possible.
Beginning in 2026, Pandya will expand his scope to include brain surgeries at Beebe. These procedures will encompass craniotomies for emergent decompression, management of elevated intracranial pressure, cerebrospinal fluid diversion and other complex intracranial pathologies.
“I’m excited to provide highly specialized care to the community thanks to the clinical affiliation between Beebe and Jefferson,” said Pandya. “With more access to neurosurgery procedures, Sussex County residents will be able to receive advanced care closer to home.”
“This is Beebe’s strategic plan in motion,” said Dr. David A. Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO. “By furthering our clinical affiliation with Jefferson Health, we are supporting the growth of essential services like neurosurgery right here in Sussex County. Beebe is focused on developing programs like these in essential areas, ensuring that the growing needs of the community are met with exceptional care, innovation and expertise.”
