Beebe Goes Purple with Oct. 6 dine & donate event

Proceeds help fight opioid crisis in Sussex County
September 22, 2021

Beebe Medical Foundation will sponsor an outdoor fundraising event Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Grain on the Rocks at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. Event proceeds will benefit its Go Purple Fund, which supports a multitude of training and education efforts surrounding the opioid epidemic in Sussex County.

The public is invited to the all-day dine & donate and the special celebrity bartending event from 5 to 8 p.m. at the outdoor bar. Community members have generously volunteered their time to bartend and help raise money.  Twenty percent of all food sales and 100% of all celebrity bartender tips will support the Go Purple Fund.

“The foundation is grateful for the generous support of Grain on the Rocks and our celebrity bartenders,” said Tom Protack, Beebe Medical Foundation president. “These proud community partners truly made this unique fundraiser possible. Supporters can come by in person to fill the bartenders’ tip jars, or they can support virtually with a donation or a bartender tip online!”

The list of celebrity bartenders can be found on Beebe Medical Foundation’s Facebook page. The event is still accepting sponsorships, which begin at $250 and are available in increments. For $5,000, sponsors or their company can name the event itself. All sponsors will be listed on event T-shirts worn by celebrity bartenders. Other donations of any amount are also encouraged to help address the opioid epidemic in Sussex County.
