Beebe honors 1916 Leadership Giving Club donors
Beebe Medical Foundation welcomed the 1916 Leadership Giving Club membership to its annual celebration, held Sept. 10 at the Lighthouse Cove Event Center in Dewey Beach.
The evening honored the generosity of the Sussex County leaders and philanthropists who make up the 1916 Club, which includes team members, board members, volunteers and other community partners whose support ensures Beebe Healthcare continues to thrive more than a century after its founding in 1916.
Keynote speakers at the event included Khalil Saliba, Beebe Medical Foundation board of directors chair; Kay Young, executive director of development; and Dr. David Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO. Each delivered remarks underscoring the importance of the 1916 Leadership Giving Club and the role it plays in supporting Beebe’s historic and long-term growth.
“Every building we expand, every new program we launch, every patient who receives exceptional, compassionate care — it’s possible because of you,” said Saliba. “Your generosity makes all the difference.”
“We don’t accomplish this work alone,” said Young. “The work of the foundation is amplified by nearly 3,000 Beebe caregivers and over 570 members of the 1916 Leadership Giving Club. You are inspiring new donors and empowering us to serve this growing community to the highest standard.”
Support from the 1916 Leadership Giving Club has allowed Beebe to make significant, critical investments, including launching Epic and MyChart, Beebe’s new electronic medical records system. Epic will enhance care coordination, improve patient safety and allow patients to access their health information in an easier and more streamlined manner.
“Because of you, Beebe is not just a healthcare provider; we are a community leader,” said Tam. “Your leadership strengthens our mission to serve, support, and care for the people of Sussex County, and your impact is visible everywhere, from our expanded services and upgraded facilities to the launch of new programs.”
