Beebe L.O.V.E. Letter award goes to Martha Proano

Beebe Healthcare recognized Martha Proano as the February recipient of the Living Our Values Every Day Letter Award.

Proano works in Beebe Healthcare’s environmental services department and was recognized for her lifesaving intervention while cleaning a patient’s room.

“Martha deserves recognition for her prompt attention to a patient and truly saving their life,” said Bree Wilkins, RN, in Proano’s L.O.V.E Letter nomination.

Proano was in an inpatient hospital room cleaning the floor when she noticed a patient had started to bleed. She quickly notified Wilkins, who was able to provide immediate care and call for backup.

“I appreciate you, Martha, so much for being an important part of our team! You were part of assisting this patient, and I want you to have this recognition for drawing my attention to the blood,” said Wilkins.

Proano demonstrated that everyone at Beebe Healthcare is an important member of the healthcare team and is involved in patient care. She exemplifies many of the Beebe values, including doing what it takes to keep everyone safe and achieving amazing accomplishments through exceptional teamwork.

Awardees are announced in a surprise ceremony during which the committee visits the winner in his or her department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive a space in the parking garage for one month; a $100 gift card; 100 points toward Beebe L.O.V.E. Notes merchandise; 100th anniversary history book: “Two Men With a Dream: The Story of Beebe Healthcare”; a letter of congratulations and personal visit from members of the executive team; their photo added to the L.O.V.E. Letter wall plaque; a letter to the team member's director; and department recognition.
