Beebe receives DNV accreditation for quality and safety assurance

November 6, 2025

Beebe Healthcare recently announced its receipt of accreditation from DNV, a global leader in quality and safety assurance.

This achievement comes after a successful initial DNV survey in which the organization examined Beebe’s quality and safety practices and procedures across departments to ensure compliance with the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations standards and global best practices, and share opportunities to provide even better patient care.

“DNV accreditation represents a significant milestone as our organization continues to grow and advance our high-reliability journey,” said Troy Schmit, chief quality officer. “Working with DNV means that moving forward, we are aligned with international standards for building a robust and reliable quality management system, allowing us to best serve our patients and community.”

Health system accreditation is a process that involves evaluation from an independent, third-party agency to ensure quality and safety standards are met; it is required for participation in Medicare and Medicaid. Partnering with DNV will allow the organization to continue making quality and safety enhancements, while maintaining patient experience and quality care as top priorities. DNV is a trusted advisor to some of the largest and most successful organizations across the country, including health systems like university hospitals and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Importantly, Beebe has achieved key quality and safety goals over the past several months, including launching a quality management system that outlines policies and procedures to help ensure consistent, high-quality care for every patient. The system also reinvigorated the Beebe Healthcare Quality and Safety Council, and achieved improvements in several quality and safety metrics.

Beebe will continue to receive Joint Commission accreditation for some specialty services, including heart failure and home health, as full transition to DNV accreditation proceeds.

“DNV standards are transparent, patient-focused and closely aligned to CMS requirements, making them an ideal accreditation partner as we continue navigating population growth, regulatory changes and other challenges facing the healthcare industry,” said Dr. David A. Tam, FACHE, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO. “We know the best way to continue providing compassionate, high-quality care to our patients and communities is by continuously striving to learn and improve.”
