Beebe welcomes new care providers, continues active recruitment
To meet the growing need for comprehensive healthcare across Sussex County, Beebe continues its active recruitment of new care providers. The healthcare organization is welcoming the following new specialists serving various clinical service lines across the organization:
Rachana Amin, MD, is a primary care provider who delivers comprehensive care for patients of all ages. She performs annual physicals and well visits with a focus on health maintenance and preventive care. Amin also offers long-term medical oversight for patients who have been diagnosed with chronic medical conditions, with a focus on how to best manage their diseases and optimize their quality of life. She has special interests in intellectual and developmental disabilities medicine, obesity medicine, psychosocial medicine, women’s health, and basic dermatology care.
“During my interview process, the people at Beebe took the time to understand my interests both within and outside of medicine,” said Amin. “They also provided an opportunity to work in a new building that houses imaging and lab services, which are so helpful for the patient care process and experience. I am excited to be here!”
Charlene Larrimore, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who sees both adults and children. In working with patients, she promotes the importance of seeing a primary care provider on a regular basis and is especially focused on preventive care. Patients see Larrimore for routine checkups, vaccinations, counseling and management of clinical oversight for chronic medical issues. She is committed to providing comprehensive care for each patient in line with their personal medical history and wellness goals. Before transitioning into her current primary care role, Larrimore worked as a registered nurse on Beebe’s Women’s Health Unit, and before that on the Medical-Surgical Unit.
“I began working for Beebe six years ago, and I quickly realized that it is a growing organization that is continuously trying to meet the needs of an ever-expanding community,” said Larrimore. “I have chosen to stay here with hope that I can contribute to meeting the vast healthcare needs of people that have become very near and dear to me.”
Lauren Freebery, MMS, PA-C, is a physician assistant and part of Beebe Healthcare’s general surgery team. She assists physicians and other clinical care providers in the operating room during surgical cases, while also handling preoperative and postoperative patient assessments. Freebery supports both urgent and elective cases, and is committed to guiding patients through the process of care in a way that optimizes both their day-of-surgery experience and their recovery process following surgery.
“I was drawn to Beebe for its reputation for compassionate, community-focused care and its collaborative surgical team,” said Freebery. “I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the community I grew up in, build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues, and provide high-quality care within a supportive and growing healthcare system.”
Karen West, MSN, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife who sees patients at Beebe Women’s Health Rehoboth and also works on the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, caring for women all during the birthing process. She is a trusted resource and care provider for women throughout their reproductive lifespan. She sees patients from adolescence through the menopause years, offering sexual and reproductive health care, family planning and contraception, prenatal and postpartum care, well woman exams, treatment for hormonal disorders, and care and symptom management during perimenopause and menopause.
“I was born here at Beebe and grew up in Lewes, so I’m deeply connected to Sussex County and grateful for the chance to serve the community that has always felt like home,” said West. “I am especially excited to join a talented, compassionate team that is committed to patient-centered, evidence-based care, in a Baby-Friendly hospital.”
Melissa Woody, MSN-FNP, BSN, RN, is a nurse practitioner who works at Beebe’s Walk-In Care clinics. She assesses, diagnoses and treats patients with a wide range of acute conditions that require prompt medical attention but are not life-threatening. Woody performs a number of minor procedures for patients presenting in urgent care clinics, including wound management, suturing, incision management and draining, and splinting. She also provides immunizations. Woody sees children over the age of 6 months and adults of all ages.
“As a Sussex County local, Beebe has always been part of my life; my family has trusted Beebe with our care throughout the years,” said Woody. “I am proud that I got my education at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, and I have worked at Beebe ever since. I have met many great people along the way and am excited to begin my new career as part of such a wonderful team.”
