Beginner pottery class at Rehoboth Art League starts June 1

May 13, 2021

Beginner hand-building classes are a foolproof and friendly introduction to pottery making. They offer a great way for students to build confidence as they become immersed in making ceramics.

The Rehoboth Art League will offer Exploring Clay classes from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesdays, June 1 to 29.

This class is for students with no clay experience who will explore the possibilities of clay. Participants will learn and use various hand-building techniques such as coil building, slab building and pinch pots to make functional pieces as well as sculptures. Students will play with surface-design techniques to discover their own personal style. Each week a new project will be introduced. Creative ideas and experiments are encouraged. The cost is $205 per person for members and $240 for nonmembers. The registration fee includes the cost of clay as well as glazing and firing of pieces.

To register, go to rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres.
