Betty J. Prater, enjoyed fishing

Betty J. Prater, 65, of Milton passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, from a lingering illness.  

She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She liked fishing, poetry, painting, reading and most of all, her kids and grandkids.  

She was preceded by her former husband, Alfred Prater; brother, Terry Smith; and sister, Effie Smith.  

Betty is survived by her son, Anthony Prater; her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Mark Kollock; four grandchildren, Marlaina Rash, Taylor Kollock, Aleah Kollock and Emirhan Sas; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Maya Rash; several siblings and their families, Debra Smith, Nadine VanDrunnen, Bill Smith, Aaron Smith, Dan Smith and Don Smith.  She will be greatly missed.  

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.  A time of visitation will begin at noon.  Interment will be at Harbeson Cemetery.  All in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
