Beverly Jean Dimmick, cherished mother, friend
Beverly Jean Dimmick, 61, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Lewes. Beverly was born May 1, 1964, in Trenton, N.J., daughter of the late Samuel and Barbara Rue.
A graduate of Allentown High School in New Jersey, Beverly spent her career in the restaurant industry, where her dedication and strong work ethic were unmatched; she was known for never taking a day off. She worked for many years as a beloved bartender at Blue Moon in Rehoboth Beach, where she built lasting relationships with coworkers and patrons alike.
Beverly made Lewes her home in 2021, bringing with her a vibrant personality that left an impression on everyone she met. She was fiercely independent, strong-willed, and unapologetically honest, traits that made her a force of nature and a cherished friend to many. Her big heart, candid spirit, and unwavering loyalty were hallmarks of her character.
She had a passion for life’s simple joys, spending time at the beach, walking the Ocean City Boardwalk, and cozy evenings watching TV, especially horror films and true crime documentaries. Beverly adored the holidays, loved cooking and baking for her family, and found joy in every moment spent with her beloved French bulldog, Lola.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all the lives she touched.
Beverly is survived by her loving daughter, Emily Rose Pummer of Lewes; her devoted son, Scott Samuel Dimmick of Wilmington; her siblings, David Rue of Trenton, N.J., and Joyce Penkola of Yardville, N.J.; and her cousins, Linda Haun and Boomer Hutnick, both of Bordentown, N.J. She also leaves behind her cherished companion, Lola.
A public service will be held at noon, Thursday, Aug. 7, at Blue Moon, 5 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
