Billy Pat Clamp, retired tour guide

July 12, 2020

Billy Pat Clamp, 80, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020, following a long battle with congestive heart failure.  He was born June 26, 1940, in Newberry, S.C., son of the late Joe and Lenore Clamp.

Billy moved to Washington, D.C., in the mid-‘60s to start a career and lived there for 50 years.  He worked as a civilian accountant for the U.S. Navy Department in Washington, D.C., for 26 years. He toured thousands of teenagers on their school trips and enjoyed touring senior citizens and others, singly or in groups.  Billy was a renowned tour guide for more than 15 years until moving to Rehoboth Beach in 2016. He never met a stranger and was beloved by many.

Billy is survived by his husband and partner of 30 years, Terry T. Vick of Rehoboth Beach; his nephew, Jerome Clamp and his family of Chapin, S.C.;  his cousin, Constance Henderson and her family of Joanna, S.C.; and many, many friends.
