Bird seed orders due to Friends of Cape Henlopen Sept. 30

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park members will accept bird seed sale orders from Monday, Sept. 1, through Tuesday, Sept. 30

Premium selections to attract and nourish backyard birds include various types of sunflower seeds, peanuts, thistle, safflower, suet and a selection of wild bird seed mixes. There are more than 15 choices as to variety and size of bag. Patrons can also purchase seed to donate directly to the park, helping support local wildlife through the winter.

Items will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at Cape Henlopen State Park’s maintenance garage. Friends volunteers will be on hand to load seed orders into people’s vehicles.

Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park is a nonprofit organization of volunteers who donate their time to promote one of the crown jewels of Delaware's state parks. They are strongly committed to public education about the park and believe that education leads to appreciation, conservation and preservation. In addition to their educational activities, Friends volunteers participate in a monthly Trails Day and a variety of other direct activities within the park.
