The Boardwalk Buddy Walk took place Oct. 12, at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand on Rehoboth Avenue for its 19th consecutive year.
Created by Sharonlee and Dennis Diehl, the Buddy Walk was established to raise support and create awareness for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
“Our year-long mission is to create a supportive community where individuals with Down syndrome can live, learn, work and play,” said Jim Watson, executive director for the Boardwalk Buddy Walk. “Our community outreach program supports organizations such as the National Down Syndrome Society, Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, Special Olympics Delaware, and individuals and their families with Down syndrome. We are especially pleased with our newest work program, Uncle David’s Ice Cream, located at 237 Rehoboth Ave.”
