Boardwalk fencing installed during work on Atlantic Sands

Rehoboth Beach hotel on Baltimore Avenue continues to do railing replacement work

Story Location:
Atlantic Sands Hotel
1 Baltimore Avenue
Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
United States

In advance of work to replace the railings for rooms facing the beach, fencing has been installed around a portion of the Atlantic Sands Hotel along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk. The fencing is above Kiwi’s Kove and expected to be there until mid-January. The fencing will be pulled back for the New Year’s Eve 5K.

Stretching the width of the block between Baltimore and Maryland avenues, and fronting the Boardwalk, this is the third off-season in a row the Atlantic Sands has been doing exterior railing work. In early 2024, the hotel replaced old glass panels and railings on the balconies facing Baltimore Avenue. This past spring, while the city was finishing up construction on its new beach patrol facility, railings were replaced in the Boardwalk-facing area of the hotel above the pool and Kiwi’s.

In addition to the work above the Boardwalk, the hotel is actively replacing railings of the rooms facing Maryland Avenue.
