A boat capsized July 6 in Indian River Bay near Pot-Nets Seaside.
Emergency responders from Indian River, Millsboro and Dagsboro were called about 2 p.m. for a capsized boat and found a 24-foot Wellcraft vessel partially submerged. Officials with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company said the occupants were all on the shoreline when responders arrived.
The Delaware State Fire Police closed public ramps in the area to allow for the launching and return of the emergency response vessels. Indian River units launched from the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp, Millsboro Marine units were designated to launch from the Gull Point (Rosedale Beach) Public Ramp, Dagsboro Marine units were designated to launch from the Vines Creek Marina area, and emergency response crew assignments launched to the designated coordinates off Pot-Nets Seaside.
