More than 500 people gathered around the Bandstand in Rehoboth Beach as part of the nationwide “No Kings” protests that took place March 28. The protests are centered around staunch opposition to President Donald Trump and his administrative policies.
The event in Rehoboth began with a brief prayer service, which was followed by a rally that featured music, speakers, special guests and elected officials.
Indivisible Southern Delaware’s Cheryl Siskin helped organize the protest. Addressing the crowd, she said she was heartened by all the attendees, because courage is hard when the crowd is small. Also, she said, courage is contagious.
At the conclusion of the Bandstand event, a good portion of the attendees walked on the Boardwalk with their homemade signs.
Earlier in the day, many of the same protesters who were at the Bandstand also participated in signing waving in Milford, Bethany, Rehoboth, Lewes, Millsboro and Dagsboro.
