Bob Cook to be recognized as Outstanding Eagle Nov. 12
The Delmarva Council Scouts BSA recently announced that Col. Bob Cook has been chosen to receive the Outstanding Eagle Award.
To honor a man who exemplifies duty to God, country and community, the award will be presented to Cook via a virtual reception Thursday, Nov. 12.
The Rev. George Patterson, formerly senior pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury, Md., will deliver the keynote address.
The Outstanding Eagle Award is a prestigious recognition granted by local councils to Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and made a positive impact in the community at the local, state, or regional level.
Active in Boy Scouts, Cook achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1943. What he has accomplished in his lifetime as a distinguished military officer and an enduring community leader has left an indelible mark on kids, families and organizations in the Delmarva community.
More than 10,000 youth are served annually by the Delmarva Council Scouts BSA. Special efforts are made to reach urban, rural, minority, handicapped and underprivileged youths who will benefit most from Scouting’s values-based programs.
Individual sponsorships start at $50. For more information or to register, go to dmvc.org/outstandingeagle.
