The Bowmans in concert with Famous October July 13 in Lewes

July 7, 2018

Indie-folk musical duos The Bowmans and Famous October will perform in concert at 7 p.m., Friday, July 13, at the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware, 30486 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Lewes. Tickets will be available at the door for $15 per person; no reservations are necessary.

With harmonies that seem to come from one astonishing voice, The Bowmans share a rare, near-telepathic musical bond. Twin sisters Sarah and Claire Bowman range from poignantly captivating to serendipitously joyful. Their music is sophisticated and imaginative, blending the preserved vulnerability and abandoned glee of their Iowa childhood. Their style is a blend of folk, Americana and classical music.

Famous October comprises Sarah Bowman and husband Rene Burrell. The two are intimately intertwined singer-songwriters, combining vocal harmony with cello and guitar. Their writing pulls from Americana and modern folk music with underlying classical arrangements. The songs tackle key moments the two have faced separately and together.

With touching and imaginative performances, the American and Swiss pairs’ tours across the United States, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands have caught widespread attention.
