Brendan David Archibald, self-employed carpenter

Brendan David Archibald, 39, of Selbyville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in Bishopville, Md. Born Sept. 23, 1973, in Flemington, N.J., he was the son of the Rev. David J. and Susan Morris Archibald of Selbyville.

He was a member of St. Martin’s in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Selbyville. Brendan was a self-employed carpenter, electrician, and had driven a race car in Tennessee. He absolutely loved fishing on Martha’s Vineyard, and spent the last two weeks of August on a perfect vacation in East Chop.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is survived by two children: Lillian Mae Archibald and Ethan David Archibald, both of Selbyville and his siblings: Alexandra Archibald, of Bloomsbury, N.J., Lincoln Archibald of Huntsville, Ala. and John Archibald of Flemington, N.J. He is also survived by numerous cousins, friends and extended family members.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Martin’s in-the-Field, Selbyville, with the Rev. Harry Collins officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to an organization Brendan loved: Sharksavers.org, 419 Layfayette St. 2nd Floor; New York, NY 10003.
