Bruce Allen Savage, communications specialist

Bruce Allen Savage, 70, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, due to complications from COVID-19.  He was born July 7, 1950, in Rocky Mount, N.C., son of the late William and Pauline Savage.

Bruce grew up in Tarboro, N.C.  Upon graduating from East Carolina University, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area where he worked as a communications specialist.  He developed corporate communication strategies for several companies and organizations, including Riggs Bank, American Gas Association, and Manufactured Housing Association. 

In 2015 Bruce married Irving "Sonny" Stedman Jr., his partner of more than 30 years.  They lived in Vienna, Va., and built a second home in Lewes.  It was to this secluded spot overlooking the Rehoboth Bay that they retired.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved husband and partner, Irving "Sonny" Stedman Jr. in 2018.  He is survived by a loving family of friends.

Services will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
