Brush Factory to host vendors’ free tasting event March 9

March 7, 2024

The Brush Factory will host a complimentary open house tasting event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at 830 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Its newest food vendor, Pretzelvania Pretzel Maker, will be onsite from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with its food truck. Pretzelvania is a family-owned local business started in Sussex County.

The event will feature products from Swell Joe Coffee, Soberdough, Big Joe’s Honey, Frank & Louie’s Italian Specialties, and a new salad dressing from Rays Produce and Flowers.

Swell Joe Coffee, a locally owned and operated, surf-inspired coffee roastery, will provide samples of its popular dark roast Mor-Feen, along with its white chocolate-macadamia nut-flavored Mackers Blend. The Swell Joe team will also be sampling Shaka•Lit, a coffee chocolate bar handmade exclusively for Swell Joe by Delaware Chocolate Company. Proceeds from every bar purchased benefit the Surfgimp Foundation.

Customers will also be treated to buttercake samples from Frank & Louie’s Italian Specialties in Rehoboth Beach. For local honey lovers, Big Joe’s Honey, a Kent County bee apiary in Wyoming, offers handcrafted honey and beeswax products. Samples of warm, fresh-baked Soberdoug artisan bread will be available in several flavors.

The Brush Factory team is excited to welcome two new local merchants. The Globe Masters are a husband-and-wife team that has been collecting for more than 40 years. They both have had long careers in the museum industry that inspired their interest in diverse and unusual collections. They have lived and traveled all over the world, which enriched their interests in maps, globes and aviation memorabilia. Their collection focus goes beyond those to popular culture and social reflections of the times. Having enjoyed their collections in many different homes, they felt it was time to downsize and let others in the community enjoy these treasures the same way they did.

Also new at the Brush Factory is Judy Rioux Art. Rioux is a self-taught artist and longtime Milton resident whose art reflects her passion for capturing the essence of life through oils and sculpture. A member of the Rehoboth Art League, Rioux also teaches at the Lewes Senior Activity Center

“The spring season is always a special time at the Brush Factory. We have so many new items, from clothing to furniture, art and more to share. We hope you can join us as we kick off the start of warmer weather,” said owner Christine Chura.

The Brush Factory is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
