C. Sanford Justice, retired teacher

C. Sanford Justice, 84, of Ocean View passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at his daughter’s home.

Sanford was born in Ocean View Feb. 9, 1934, son of the late Royal Justice and Mary (Murray) Foskey.  He graduated from Lord Baltimore High School in Ocean View, and then proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War.  He received his undergraduate degree from Salisbury State Teacher’s College, and then completed his master’s program at Union College in Barbourville, Ky.

Mr. Justice retired as a teacher with the Milford School District in the 1980s.  He also started the Pine Tree Campground in Ocean View, and also the Pitchcroft Restaurant in Smith Island, Md.  Sanford was a member of Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, Doric Lodge No. 30 A.F. & A.M. in Millville and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 12 in Frankford.  He enjoyed going out to eat, gardening and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret K. Justice in 2008; and a sister, Lois Conner.  He is survived by a daughter, Kelley Reynolds and her husband Kent; and two grandchildren, Samantha Reynolds and Clay Reynolds.

A Masonic service will be held at noon followed by a funeral service Friday, Dec. 14, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
