Cape senior pitcher Nick Cox went the distance in a 10-1 victory over Delmar March 30 at Chris Short Field.
Cox threw a two-hitter, striking out four. He also helped himself at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Delmar’s lone run was unearned.
Isaac Terhune went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Brian Fleming went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Owen Daminger had a single and an RBI.
“I thought we did a very nice job against two very good pitchers,” said Cape coach Ben Evick. “The starter Bryce Hendricks throws in the upper 80s to low 90s.”
Cape will host Sussex Tech Tuesday, April 4.

A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
