December 15, 2025

Three Vikings reached double figures as the Cape boys’ basketball squad conquered Sussex Central 60-27 in a key early season Henlopen North game Dec. 12 at the Golden Knights’ new gymnasium in Georgetown.

Jameson Tingle scored a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Vikings, while Stephen Sivels and Geordan Downing each added 13 points. Braxton Figgs grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.

“We did what we needed to do,” said Figgs. “We are just taking it one game at a time. Dover on Tuesday is where my head is now.”

David Barnes and Lawson Whaley each grabbed six rebounds off the bench.

“We held Sussex Central to eight points in the first half,” said Cape coach Steve Re. “Our team defense was suffocating and connected. We continued that into the second half, playing the right way and sharing the ball. Solid team performance, and we showed maturity throughout the game.”

The 3-0 Vikings host 3-1 Dover Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Senators’ average margin of their three victories is 37 points.
