Cape boys’ lax steamrolls Sussex Tech 24-0 in tournament

The field of 16 teams in the DIAA Boys’ Lacrosse State Tournament has been cut in half, as four teams will host quarterfinal games Saturday, May 25. 

Cape rolled over Sussex Tech 24-0 and will host Saint Mark’s at 11 a.m., Saturday. The Spartans reached the finals with a 12-8 road win at Wilmington Charter.

Caesar Rodney will host Tatnall in the bottom half of Cape’s bracket. 

The upper bracket features top-seeded Salesianum hosting St. Andrew’s, while Archmere will host Wilmington Friends.  

The semifinals will be contested Wednesday, May 29, at the home of the higher seed. 

The state championship game is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, at Delaware Military Academy. Game time is 3 p.m. 

All tickets are purchased electronically through the GoFan system. There is a chance that on Saturday, some schools (Cape a possibility) will be hosting  boys’ lacrosse, baseball and softball on the same day.
