In May, John and Christine Lodge of Lewes traveled in Norway aboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas on an 8-day Norwegian fjord odyssey. Captivating ports of call included Stavanger, Bergen, Alesund and Geiranger. While in Alesund, John and Chris traveled to the summit of Mt. Aksla, a 620 foot summit overlooking the picturesque town of Alesund with its rugged mountain ranges and fjord. From there, it was on to Sunnmore to visit the Sunnmore Open Air Museum which featured early period Norwegian homes and detailed replicas of the Viking longships. During their travels in Norway, the Cape Gazette kept John and Chris informed of the return of Lewes’s own “longship,” The Overfalls, to her berth in Lewes Harbor.
