Cape girls’ soccer puts on district-wide unified soccer tourney in Milton
Following a record-setting season, members of the Cape girls’ soccer team collected themselves after a heart-breaking loss May 21, to put on a unified indoor soccer tournament at Mariner Middle May 22.
Originally scheduled to be played outside, weather forced the games inside. Fred Thomas and Mariner played to a 4-4 tie in the first match, while Beacon picked up the first win with a 5-3 victory over the host. Beacon remained undefeated with a 4-3 victory over Fred Thomas in the final match.
Most importantly, sportsmanship remained consistently high, and each player in a kit got plenty of minutes.
After the final whistle, the teams were treated to pizza and frozen treats.
